Starcycle provides operational support for shutdowns. We're not a substitute for legal, tax or financial advice.
Head to head
Each page covers scope, tax filing, investor work and price for one provider.
Alternatives
Each guide ranks the approaches, from doing it yourself with the state to an attorney, a CPA, a full-service wind-down or an assignment for the benefit of creditors.
How we compare
We read each provider's own pages and its published pricing, and we link the page next to every claim. We leave out review scores, customer counts and anything we cannot trace to a page. If a provider doesn't publish a price or a timeline, the row says so.
Prices and scope change, so each page carries the date we last checked it. If you spot something out of date, email hello@starcycle.ai and we'll recheck it.
Services, pricing and FAQs, as published.
A link and a date on every table row.
Delaware, California, New York and Texas, from their own agencies.
The verified date at the top changes when we do.
Before you choose
These apply to us as much as to anyone else.
A shutdown service coordinates the filings and key dates, an attorney handles legal decisions such as disputes and creditor claims, and a CPA prepares the final tax returns. Starcycle does the administrative paperwork and works with partner CPAs and lawyers, or yours.
No. We are Starcycle, and each page says so. We show a source link and a checked date on every provider fact, and we leave out review scores and customer counts.
Pricing starts at $399, and state filing fees are paid at the state's own rate. Companies with investors, several states or active contracts get a quote for the white-glove tier.
Dissolution filing fees run from $0 in California (plus its $800 minimum franchise tax) to $40 in Texas, $60 in New York and $224 in Delaware. Those are filing fees only, before taxes, registered agent and preparation costs. Each comparison page links the state agencies.
No. A partner CPA or your own CPA prepares them, billed separately, and Starcycle tracks the dates. Some providers include tax filing and some list it as a separate service, which the comparison pages show row by row.
Yes, the white-glove tier covers companies with investors and cap tables. Starcycle prepares the board and stockholder documents; your counsel or CPA calculates any distributions to investors.
Starcycle works with U.S. LLCs and corporations, and with a sole proprietor only when there is an LLC. Key-date tracking covers all 50 states, and a multi-state plan includes withdrawals from states other than your home state.
An attorney decides between options such as an assignment for the benefit of creditors or bankruptcy. Starcycle doesn't handle that work, though we can make intros to lawyers. Each alternatives page explains the options in plain terms.
It depends on the states involved, the tax filings and how quickly records come together, so most providers publish no fixed duration. Starcycle gives you a timeline as part of your plan.
That depends on your situation, and a lawyer is worth involving when there are disputes, creditor claims or complex ownership. For simpler closures, many founders work with a service and their own CPA. We can also make intros to lawyers and accountants.
